This fall, I had the opportunity to work with the group Barnaby Bright. We made a series of videos while they recorded their new releases at Weights & Measures Sound Lab. We ended up with 6 full videos of the band performing live.

The group just moved home from Brooklyn, New York and are making great music here in the heartland. Keep an eye out for them. They can put an ear worm into a tune that will be stuck in your mind for days.

In the winter of 2015, Barkley was asked to produce a line of online spots to promote their Holiday Scratchers. This campaign was to run online only, but the client fell in love; air time was purchased and these ran on broadcast. Merry Christmas to me!

The campaign was conceived at Barkley and produced by the internal team. I directed all of these spots while enlisting Northpass Media to help with production. I was able to help shape the voice-over in the booth with the talent based on some old Miller Lite spots, I'm sure we all remember. The project allowed me to work with animal talent, prop-masters, site scouts, and some really great gaff work. It was a tight schedule, but we made it happen. I was even able to design some motion for the end tag.

Big O Tires had never run a black Friday broadcast spot until 2017. They realized the noise and distraction of the holiday spots could be easily cut with a stark and simple campaign. While folks were out shopping their cars would be competing for the same attention.

The concept of the spots were to pose the car it self as the nagging issue and Big O Tires as the solution. Most of the message is delivered in the sound design. 

The graphics/assets were produced by a nimble team of creators. This team works with clients and the video is intended to showcase their talents. The goal was to attract new clients and impress during a pitch.

Directing motion design is a lot like directing video. It all tells a story. With my skill set, I am able to move between full motion designs to narrative video seamlessly. My only concern is telling the story. Well, that and making the whole world a better designed place.  Hopefully, this video does a little of both.

Take5 Uber Promotion

Take5 Uber Promotion

Take5 teamed up with Uber to deliver an activation in Seattle, Nashville and Denver that surprised riders with a unique and fun ride. Prior to the even, We flew to Seattle to film on location of the LeMay Car Museum for a promotional piece prior to the activation.

This work earned my a regional gold Addy and a national silver. I was also allowed to drive a Lamborghini. That was a lot of fun.

Take5 - GovWall

Every year the Governor's Ball in New York is flooded with tons of young people attending the three day music festival. We were on the ground, documenting Take5's installation of some street art on location. The activation gave everyone a change to have a killer Instagram shot and this video tells that story.
